I know not many people blog about their issues but oh well, w/e. I get pretty bad anxiety that stems from my own personal fears (Well, obviously, right? considering that's how anxieties develop!). I didn't start to go to therapy till November of last year. BUT I honestly don't know where I'd be without it. Therapy helps me a great deal. Makes me feel not so kookoo and helps me develop coping skills (like mediation and yoga) for my anxiety. It's a nice safe space to unload and vent all my fears, frustrations, issues, and of course, relish in the good times as well. I never really thought much of therapy and always kind of side-eyed it but now I feel like a fool for ever thinking those things. Therapy is such a great tool for everyone. IDGAF if you're a happy person or not. It's just nice to have an 100% neutral space to speak in and to have healthy and helpful feedback. To be honest, I feel like I'll be in therapy for the rest of my life but it doesn't even bother me. I consider it a safe space and a positive tool in my life.
Ps: Plus, these lil fuzzy creepers can be just as helpful as a therapy session! :)
Anyways, that's my .02 for the day! Hope everyone is having a great week. Happy Hump Day!

You've got to have safe spaces like that! I am glad that you found one. <3
I never understood people who are so anti therapy...a periodic hour when I get to talk about me without having to worry about listening to someone else in return? HEAVEN!
I am glad that you have a safe space.
Therapy really is a wonderful tool.
& you know what, you're pretty awesome for posting this. <3
When I was 19 I got a DWI and was court ordered to see a therapist for a substance abuse problem I didn't have. Instead of talking about what we were supposed to be talking about, we talked about my codependency issues and anxieties. We only met a few times but the guy gave me some really powerful tools.
@Jess Mary SERIOUSLY and w/o being judged. yes, plz.
@Georgeanne @ The Arkansassy Soprano Agreed. :) You need safe spaces to get through life.
@Rhiannon Admidas Yeah, it's so helpful because anxiety can be so depilating. The coping skills I get from my therapist are priceless.
@Danielle Thank you! I think safe spaces are super important. There's nothing like having an hour of time to vent w/o being judged and to gain tools to better help you handle your issues! :)
"Anyways, that's my .02 for the day!"
Honestly, I read that like 4 or 5 times thinking, "Her point-oh-two for the day? What does that mean? I don't get it." Maybe I need therapy, too.
This is really resonating with me because I've been seriously considering therapy for the last few months to deal with some anxiety stuff. My insurance covers it (thank god) but I don't even know where to begin finding one!
@Alli I used this website: http://therapists.psychologytoday.com/ and you put your location and what you need therapy for (anxiety or w/e)!
@M. That is AWESOME, thank you!
I really appreciate this post
@Daedfruma I appreciate you, bb. ♥
ugh my dr has been recommending therapy for 3 years but i need to get my anxiety in check before i can even feel okay enough to go. i've been taking effexor for four months now and i finally feel like i'm in a place where i could go and not just burst into tears/have a panic attack upon arriving (what has happened every time i've attempted to go before :/)
you are inspiring me to call and set up my intake appt!
@Ashley I had a pretty bad panic attack/cry fest before going to my apt but felt instantly better after the apt! :)
I think pets make great therapy :-)
